Nathan Peats hopes to make it up

Short of trying to make every tackle and every hit up, Nathan Peats will be doing everything he can to make up for missing last week's drubbing at the hands of the Sydney Roosters.

Peats, who missed last week's game after accepting a one-week's suspension for an off-field incident before he came to the club, is the only change to the team that lost 56-4 to the reigning premiers.

"That's the reason I came to Parra, to play long minutes and some consistent footy, so hopefully I can repay the boys this week," he said.

"I was just disappointed I wasn't out there; no NRL team should be beaten by that much, especially considering how well we played in round one."

Peats is hoping to replicate his man of the match performance in round one against Manly on Sunday. Last year's grand finalists enter the game following a big win against South Sydney. They will again be without fullback Brett Stewart for the clash.

"It's a big challenge coming up against Manly, but after last week, if we can bounce back and play how we played round one, hopefully we can have a decent go," he said.

"Hopefully, we can show Manly what we have — and I know we've got more to offer."
