GRranville TAFE students involved in the making of Australian-Lao film The Rocket are thrilled with its international success.
The film has clocked up an impressive 31 awards including best original screenplay at the third Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) awards held in Sydney last month.
Vicky Rattanavong was one of seven diploma of interpreting students who did voice-over work in the film's post-production.
"It was such a great opportunity to be part of this great film and it really helped me get some practical work in the field," she said.
The film follows the story of a boy who leads his family across war-torn Laos to the dangerous rocket festival competition, where he builds a giant rocket to try and prove he's not cursed.
Head teacher Padimi Sampathkumar was very proud of the role the students had played and said it was a good experience for them.
