THOUSANDS of people from across Australia will descend upon Rosehill Gardens for the annual BMW Sydney Carnival in March and April.
The Sydney carnival includes six race events and three of these will be held at Rosehill.
The carnival promises to be a huge economic boom for the area with holiday packages drawing thousands of visitors from interstate, local fashion outlets bringing out their race gear, after-party events being organised and hotels being booked out.
Executive general manager of sales and commercial for the Australian Turf Club, Tony Partridge, said the race events have a number of economic benefits.
"We employ a lot of locals," Mr Partridge said.
"On Golden Slipper Day for example, we employ 990 people. A lot of those will come from the local area.
"We expect over 50,000 people over the three carnival days at Rosehill."
Cellarbrations Ladies Day will kick off the Sydney carnival on March 22.
The Rosehill event will include a day of trackside racing, fashion and glamour.
