There was chaos in the Westfield Parramatta car park earlier today (March 5) as police hunted for two people following the pursuit of a truck between Liverpool and Parramatta.
The pursuit began at Moorebank when highway patrol officers saw a white Hino tip-truck, which had been reported stolen last month, travelling along Christiansen Boulevard.
Police attempted to stop the truck, however, when the driver allegedly failed to stop the pursuit was taken over by Polair, which followed the vehicle along the Hume Highway before the truck was driven into Westfield Parramatta through a Campbell Street car park entrance.
The truck is parked in level six of the car park, which has been cordoned off by police.
Shoppers parked on level six level are being escorted to their cars by Westfield staff and told not to take photos.
Parramatta police are hunting for a man and woman who were seen running from the truck.
The man was described as of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, aged in his 20s, black hair with a mullet-style at the back and shaved on the sides, brown eyes and tattoos on his neck and arm.
He was last seen wearing white sunglasses, a grey v-neck t-shirt, grey jeans, bright white sneakers and carrying a black satchel over his shoulder.
The woman was described as being about 175 centimetres tall, of medium build, long black hair and wearing a black singlet, a cardigan, black tights, black thongs and carrying a large black handbag.
Police urge anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
