Catholic Schools Week: What's on

Catholic Schools Week is on March 9 to 15, and will include readings, prayers, educational displays and events at schools in the Parramatta diocese to meet this year’s theme ‘‘More than a great education’’.

More than a quarter of school-aged children in greater western Sydney attend a Catholic school.

Executive director of schools, Greg Whitby, said a faith-based education helped students to develop their potential and contribute to society in a meaningful way. ‘‘We must ensure schooling is relevant to today’s world, so our students will be well prepared to face the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly-changing society in the future,’’ he said.
