THE MONUMENTS MEN (March 13)

An unlikely World War II platoon is assigned to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their owners. 

Based on a true story, it stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett.

■ WADJDA (March 20)

A young Saudi Arabian girl challenges her country’s traditions by competing against her neighbour in a cycling race. 

Her mother refuses to buy the bike because the sport is frowned on for girls but Wadjda finds ways around that.

■ POMPEII (March 20)

Enslaved gladiator Milo fights for his life daily in the arena. 

When noblewoman Cassia enters his world he must also fight his feelings for her, until a volcanic eruption threatens to seal the ancient city like a tomb.
