Musical revival

ANNIE, the red-headed comic strip heroine, is coming to Parramatta's Riverside Theatres in February.

Western Sydney residents Laura Bunting and Keira Bellifemine have scored parts in the revival of the classic rags-to-riches musical, Annie.

Laura, 10, made her musical debut earlier this year in Candy Man, starring alongside well-known performer Wayne Scott Kermond.

She will now take to the stage as orphan Duffy.

"I am very excited to be a part of Annie and cannot wait until we perform and entertain audiences," Laura said. "Duffy is a cheeky girl and I think I'm a lot like her."

Keira Bellifemine, 13, of Castle Hill practised for the part of orphan July by cleaning and singing at home. "Although I hate cleaning, I practised singing Hard Knock Life while scrubbing the garage floor," Keira said.

The young actors will star alongside well-known actress, Amanda Muggleton.

Keira said she was honoured to be working with Muggleton.
