A man will appear in court today after allegedly indecently filming several women in a shopping centre at Parramatta on Thursday, December 5.
Police were called to the shopping centre at 12.30pm after a man was detained by security guards.
The man had been observed acting suspiciously and a member of the public reported it to security officers.
Police said the man was in possession of a mobile phone with a camera and a backpack.
He was seen travelling up and down the escalators of the shopping centre allegedly recording women.
The Dutch national, 25, was arrested and taken to Parramatta police station where he was charged with filming a person’s private parts without consent.
Police found 16 separate recordings of women in his phone.
It is alleged that some footage was recorded earlier yesterday, and other material in recent weeks.
