Tanya Appleby, OLMC deputy principal

Three people I would love to invite to dinner: Shakespeare, Nelson Mandela and Elvis Presley. Each would offer something so diverse to the conversation and I imagine that Elvis would sing to me after dessert.

The best advice I ever received was: From my mother:

‘‘Don’t be afraid to crack a few hard eggs if you want to lay golden idea’’. It sounds fabulous in Spanish!

The most amazing thing I’ve ever done is: Give birth to my daughters, Georgia and Olivia. Life-changing moments.

If I was down to my last $10 I would spent it on: The poor, the destitute or the alone.

My greatest fear is: Being attacked by killer bees or a million paper cuts.

My fantasy job is: Being deputy principal at OLMC Parramatta.

I love coming to work every day—the girls are the heart of the college and make me smile.

What people may not know about me is: That I have been in a Hollywood film with Tom Cruise.

If I could have a super power it would be: Going back in time. There are many questions I would like to ask people about their experiences.

My hidden talent is: Being able to lip read. I have found it a very useful talent as a teacher.

My first car was: A bomb. It broke down regularly and gave me nothing but heartache and huge bills.
