Like birds of a feather, Parramatta residents need to flock together to ensure the scarlet robin is named Australia's favourite bird.
Today is the last day to vote for the tiny red-breasted bird, which Parramatta Council has sponsored in the National Bird Week competition.
It isn't going to be easy. Our feathered neighbour is up against 52 flying contenders, including the Australian magpie, the galah and the rainbow lorikeet.
It's not just the Wanderers that the council is striving to make a happy nest for: a project is in place to rehabilitate Waddangalli Woodland in Guildford to ensure the robin doesn't disappear.
As a threatened species, our winged friend is vulnerable to pets, rubbish dumping and a lack of native vegetation.
