Parramatta locals can pull on their thinking caps for a trivia night for the Ronald McDonald House at Westmead on November 1.
The house's executive officer Mike Thomas said community support was fundamental to keeping the house going.
"Community events and fund-raising is our biggest income stream, generating over $500,000 each year," Mr Thomas said.
The house, which can accommodate up to 23 families, is almost always at capacity.
"The demand for our services is such that sadly, we turn away approximately 200 families each year," Mr Thomas said.
The trivia night, at the Novotel in Parramatta, will include silent auctions and a raffle.
Details: November 1, Novotel Parramatta, 6.30pm. Cost: $40. Booking: 9845 0600 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
