A magic moment is set to occur when the world's first magic super group takes to the stage for the first time in the world in Parramatta.
Magicians of the moment will combine their magic touches when Band of Magicians comes to Riverside Theatres in January as part of Sydney Festival Parramatta.
The performance will be a world premiere for four of the faces of modern magic: Justin Willman, Nate Stainforth, Justin Florn and Australia's own James Galea.
Mr Galea, who has appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and headlined acts in Las Vegas and Hollywood, said he was "ridiculously excited" to perform.
"It's an energy which only a premiere can produce I think. This show has so many moving parts and I can't wait to see it culminate for the first time in January," Mr Galea said.
He said audiences should expect an unforgettable show with magic and illusions that have not been seen before.
"What's exhilarating about this show is that the magicians will be working together as one, as opposed to just 'doing their act'.
"We've really tried to raise the bar for ourselves so that our audiences can be sure to be a part of something truly special."
The seed for the idea to perform as a collective was planted when the magicians were having dinner at Mr Galea's house in Los Angeles.
"We were enjoying the time so much, sharing stories only magicians could appreciate, and were kind of upset that we didn't get to do it often enough," he said.
"We pondered how much fun it would be to be able to do a show together . . . the rest is history."
And to the all-important question of whether magicians reveal their secrets to each other if not the audience, Mr Galea responded: "I can't tell you that".
You'll need to have sound senses when Band of Magicians performs at Riverside Theatres from January 10 to 19. Tickets available from $50.
