Community service providers can be accessed under one roof at Holroyd’s first Community Services Expo next Wednesday.
The community will have the opportunity to speak personally with almost 50 service providers in health, education, housing and find out how they can access local resources.
Ability Options’ senior employment consultant Alyce Galea said the exchange between providers and the community is an important investment.
‘‘This event should encourage the Holroyd community to raise concerns or ask questions in exchange for answers and solutions from those organisations that have put their hand up to help make a difference,’’ she said.
‘‘Whilst residents have indicated to council that they want more information on resources and services available to them, this will be an important learning curve for providers who will want to know how to get their core messages out to the public effectively in future.’’
Holroyd Council mayor Nasr Kafrouni said building partnerships with community service providers ensured the quality of resources available.
‘‘Our role is to provide for the changing needs of the city's families, and an Expo like this will shape how we develop future community programs for residents of Holroyd,’’ Cr Kafrouni said.
‘‘There is a strong focus on having a community that is happy, safe and healthy.’’
