Parramatta teammates Jarryd Hayne and Tim Mannah are playing their part in promoting international rugby league lending their names to a new trophy.
The inaugural Hayne/Mannah Cup game between the Australian Fijians and Lebanon teams is this Saturday, October 19, at Club Italia Mounties, Hollywood Drive, Lansvale, at 3pm.
Hayne is Fijian and Mannah is Lebanese.
Following this weekend’s game, Fiji will then head overseas to England and Wales for the World Cup which starts on Saturday, October 26. Lebanon didn’t qualify for the Wold Cup.
Hayne won’t be at the game this Saturday as he is in Britain with the Australian Kangaroos preparing for the world cup. But Tim Mannah will be.
Mounties is the major sponsor providing $12,000 for the Australian Fijian Rugby League, which celebrates its 10th birthday this year.
There are several junior age games between Australian Fijian and Lebanon teams before the main game.
The under-16s start at 10.45am, the under-18s at noon; under-20s at 1.15pm and the main game at 3pm. Gates open at 9am.
