A learner driver, 18, caught the attention of police when he drove the wrong way down George Street — a one-way street — in Parramatta about 4.20am on September15.
Police stopped the vehicle — which had no learner plates displayed — to find the single passenger did not hold a current NSW driver’s licence.
Police breath-tested the male driver of Willmott and he returned a positive result.
He was taken to Parramatta police station where he was charged with low-range drink-driving and the other traffic offences.
Police also confiscated his learner’s licence.
On the Parramatta command Facebook page, police said the driver’s actions were an example of how to attract the attention of police and gave the driver the ‘‘look at me’’ award.
