Women have been left without their dream wedding dress following the liquidation of one of Parramatta's notable bridal retailers.
Park Avenue Bridal Pty Ltd on Macquarie Street was forced into receivership, leaving some women without their gowns only days before their wedding.
The Department of Fair Trading said the directors and employees at the store had not been contacted since August 16 when the retailer was locked up.
"Investigators attended the premises today [August 21] and made contact with customers, some who had fully paid, and some who had partially paid for, wedding dresses," Fair Trading commissioner Rod Stowe said.
Mr Stowe said the liquidators, Cor Cordis Chartered Accountants, were in the process of working through orders that had been placed with the company.
"The liquidators said dresses on the premises that had been paid for and were completed should be able to be provided to customers, subject to reconciliation by the liquidators," he said. "It was also agreed that any consumers who had made partial payments could collect finished garments, subject to final payment and reconciliation by the liquidators."
Park Avenue Bridal Pty Ltd customers should contact Cor Cordis Chartered Accountants on 8221 8433.
