Parramatta Wildcats power forward Jane Warren has given the local Association a much-needed boost at the completion of the 2013 Waratah Championship League competition, taking out three awards including; Leading Offensive Rebounds, Leading Defensive Rebounds and Leading Total Rebounds.
Warren overcame the significant hurdle of playing in the worst-performing team in the League, out-shining many more highly-credentialed rivals - including a host of players from the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) competition.
Warren made the boards her own domain, both at Parramatta and in all other stadiums, leading the Offensive Rebound category by a clear twelve rebounds, the Defensive Rebound category by fifty rebounds and the Total Rebound category by an outstanding eighty-two rebounds.
That effort was simply head and shoulders above every other female player in the competition.
Given the Parramatta Wildcats Basketball Association has now been officially outcast from the NSW Basketball program, Warren’s performances this season should ensure she will be hotly pursued by any number of rival clubs, all looking to build their own strength in the paint for the 2014 WCL season.
