Junior grabs hammer silver

TOP young track and field competitor Jessica Stikovic represented NSW at the Australian Junior Championships last week in Perth.

She won a silver medal in the under-17s hammer throwing event, despite a sprain to her knee.

Jessica, 16, is a member of Westfields Sports Athletics Club and is coached by Karyne Di Marco and Breanne Clement.

Jessica trains at Greystanes under Di Marco's and Clement's tutelage.

Jessica is a year 11 student at Good Samaritan Catholic College, Hinchinbrook.

She is a multiple winner at state and national junior level in throwing events, and she recently represented her country at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

"I would like to thank Masterton Homes for this funding," Jessica said.

"They are a great family company and I thank them for taking such an interest in my athletics throwing career."
