To Hollywood with dancing skills

PERFORMER Laree Gadenne is off to Hollywood to take on the world of competitive performing arts.

Gadenne will represent Australia in dance and acting at the 2013 World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles in July.

She said the event provided her with a chance to showcase her skills to acting and dancing professionals as well as talent scouts.

"You could win a gold, silver or bronze medal if you win," Gadenne said.

"There will be big agents coming over to look at us and you could win scholarships.

"It could open up many opportunities and it's also about doing your country proud."

To help pay for her travel to the US, dancers from all over Sydney have collaborated to produce variety show Karizma Dance Extravaganza to raise funds.

The show at Parramatta Leagues Club on Saturday includes dance styles such as jazz, salsa and samba.

There will also be a lucky door prize and raffles on the night.

Gadenne said audiences can expect many styles of dance to suit all dance tastes.

"We have amazing choreographers who have teamed up with skilled dancers to create an energetic dance show," she said.

"There are many creative elements to the show that will make it bigger and better."

Gadenne started dancing at the age of three and has performed with many dance groups.
