VIDEO: Western Sydney wedding industry growing, says stylist

Western Sydney is becoming a hot spot in the wedding industry, according to local fashion blogger Wendy El-Khoury.

Ms El-Khoury, who was a wedding co-ordinator at her family's reception hall, the Grand Royale in Granville said she loves to help aspiring brides achieve their dream day.

She said she enjoys working in western Sydney because she gets to work on the weddings of people with a variety of cultures, traditions and ideas.

“When it comes to the wedding industry, west is best," Ms El-Khoury, 29, said.

“Small, family-run businesses are what makes this industry work.”

She said local businesses like Alina Collections, South Wentworthville, have brought high-end fashion to the west, stocking labels such as Alex Perry and Rachel Gilbert.

Ms El-Khoury said that the western Sydney wedding industry is growing every day and education in the the latest trends and what's required to plan a wedding are important to ensure brides are happy with their big day.

She said this is the reason she started her blogs.

Ms El-Khoury recently hosted a bridal expo at the Grand Royale with a range of wedding related businesses, many of them from western Sydney.

Over the course of two days there were more than 1000 attendees, 30 exhibitors, five entertainment acts and even a surprise proposal.
