Parramatta City councillors will discuss changing the name of Parramatta Railway Station to Parramatta Central tonight.
A report to council written by councillor Paul Garrard, who will bring the motion forward, said the change would better identify Parramatta’s unique geographical positioning within the context of the metropolitan strategy.
The document says renaming it Parramatta Central would further highlight its strategic role in employment creation and transport accessibility.
It will be discussed at tonight’s council meeting.
If councillors support the name change the council will approach State Rail with its proposal.
