The Liquid Cinema will be screening Monsters and Aliens tomorrow night alongside the riverbank for families to come along and enjoy a unique outdoor experience.
The entertainment will be on every second Saturday in March and April with family-friendly films on a giant outdoor movie screen at the Parramatta River Foreshore, between Lennox and Barry Wilde Bridge.
Parramatta lord mayor John Chedid, said the Liquid Cinema is an opportunity for people to get together for a fun and in-expensive night out.
“With movies scheduled to start at 5.30pm it’s perfect for families with young children who need to be home in time for bed,” Cr Chedid said.
Movie goers are encouraged to take their own blankets, chairs and cushions though there will be some available to hire for those who get in first.
“We have organised deckchairs, bean bags, tables and chairs for the audience’s comfort and enjoyment,” Cr Chedid said.
“If the kids get restless, they can play some games of totem tennis."
Each week there will be a special theme and families are encouraged to dress up.
“I encourage families to come dressed up as their favourite characters, particularly for the Musicals and Super-villains and Heroes week."
The Liquid Cinema, a glass and alcohol free event, will feature two movies each night with a 45-minute intermission so audiences can enjoy snacks from the nearby food vendors and relax to live music.
