Four men have been charged following a spate of delivery driver robberies in western Sydney, including an attempt to rob the same driver twice in two days.
About 9.30pm on Saturday, February 16, a 23-year-old pizza delivery man attended an address on Spurway Street, Ermington.
It is alleged two men, aged 23 and 30, approached the man’s car and took the man’s phone and money.
One of the men allegedly punched the driver to the face, before running from the scene.
In a second incident, about 12.30pm on Sunday, February 17, it’s alleged the same two men placed a pizza order to be delivered to Early Street, Parramatta.
As the 31-year-old delivery driver entered a unit block to deliver the pizzas, the 23 and 30-year-old men allegedly threatened him and demanded cash.
The two men made off with cash and the delivery man was not injured.
It’s further alleged about 12pm the following day, Monday, February 18, the same two men placed a pizza order to be delivered to Thomas Street, Parramatta.
Police have been told when the 31-year-old delivery driver arrived with their order, he recognised the two men from the previous day and contacted police.
Officers from Parramatta local area command patrolled the area and arrested a 23-year-old man on nearby Elizabeth Street.
He was taken to Parramatta police station where he was charged with attempted robbery, two counts of robbery in company and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court today, February 19.
Yesterda, Monday, February 18, police arrested a 30-year-old man and took him to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with robbery in company.
He was also refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court today, February 19.
Meanwhile, two other men, aged 18 and 20, have been arrested after they allegedly robbed a delivery driver at Dundas.
About 8.30pm on Sunday, February 17, the two men allegedly placed a pizza order to be delivered to Lindsay Avenue, Ermington.
It’s alleged they threatened the 25-year-old male delivery driver and took his money and pizzas.
Officers from Rosehill local area command were patrolling the area and saw the incident unfold.
They arrested the two men and took them to Parramatta police station where they were charged with robbery in company.
Both men were granted conditional bail and are due to appear before Parramatta local court on April 3.
