A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car in Merrylands West.
The man, 49, was struck by a black Toyota Corolla as it left the driveway of a fast food restaurant as he was crossing Sherwood Road 6.20pm yesterday.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital for severe head injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Police have spoken with the 36-year-old man who was driving the Toyota.
He has also undergone mandatory blood and urine tests.
Investigating officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
