Lanes reopen on Parramatta Road after garbage truck crash

Commuters in Sydney's west are facing long delays on Friday morning after two garbage trucks collided at Auburn, leaving one driver trapped.

All lanes of Parramatta Road have now reopened between Rawson Street and James Ruse Drive.

All diversions have been lifted but traffic on Parramatta Road and the M4 remains heavy in both directions.

Veolia Route M92 and 909 buses are no longer diverted and have returned to normal route but are delayed up to 20 minutes.

Passengers can continue to use their bus tickets to travel on trains between Auburn and Parramatta until 9am.

The crash, which happened about 5am, blocked the westbound lanes of Parramatta Road entirely between Rawson Street and James Ruse Drive earlier this morning.

Emergency services have now freed the driver of one of the garbage trucks, who was trapped in the wreckage.
