Wildcats to contest Bruins challenge

The Parramatta Wildcats Basketball Association will compete in the annual Bankstown Challenge on the weekend of  February 16 and 17, which will feature both men's and women's teams from the Waratah Championship League, State League and Youth League competitions.

The annual tournament has been a key starting point of the season for many teams, over past years, especially those competing in the championship league.

The challenge offers a great opportunity for WCL head coaches to not only test the strength of their own squads but equally to gauge the depth and strength of this year's opposition.

The Wildcats will be joined in the men's division of the challenge by the host association Bankstown Bruins, along with the Sutherland Sharks, Sydney City Comets, Hills District Hornets and the reigning WCL premiers - the Northern Suburbs Bears.

Bankstown, Parramatta and Hills district will also provide both State League and youth league teams, with action commencing at 10.30am on Saturday, February 16, with the Bruins youth league women opening proceedings on court one against the Hornets.

Games continue through until 8.30pm on Saturday, then resume at 10.30am on Sunday - all games will be played at the Bankstown Basketball Stadium, Third Avenue, Condell Park.
