Female employee very shaken up after violent robbery

A female employee was assaulted on Monday morning during a violent robbery at Fowler Road Newsagency, Guildford.

The incident occurred at 11am when a man of middle-eastern appearance entered the store and demanded money.

Police allege the man pushed the young employee over causing the woman to hit her head on the cash register.

It’s believed the thief took $300-$400 from the cash register and fled the scene on foot.

The owner of the newsagency told the Holroyd Sun his worker was very shaken up from the attack and had to receive medical treatment.

Security camera footage is being reviewed of the incident and anyone with information should contact Merrylands Police 9897 4899.
