Police are reminding parents to check windows and flyscreens are secure after a child fell from a window in Harris Park on Saturday.
About 7.45pm emergency services were called to a block of units on Alice Street following reports a child had fallen from a window.
Police said the seven-year-old girl is believed to have been playing with her two-year-old brother in a bedroom of the second-floor until when she fell from the window.
She was rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition suffering head injuries.
She underwent surgery and remains in intensive care.
Police were notified about the incident 9.30pm and officers from Rosehill Local Area Command attended the hospital where they spoke with the parents.
At this stage of inquiries there appear to be no apparent suspicious circumstances.
