Open-air cinema helps hospital

HOLROYD Rotary Club will host an open-air movie night on Friday when the AFI award-winning Red Dog is screened at Monte Bennett Oval, Wentworthville.

The gold-coin donation event is open to everyone with all proceeds going towards Children's Hospital at Westmead.

Rotary volunteers hope to raise $5000 from the fund-raiser which will be used to buy televisions, iPads and smartboards in the hospital's adolescent ward.

"This is one of our major fund-raisers and we encourage everyone to come along and support a very worthy cause," Holroyd Rotary's past president, Warwick Tester, said.

Gates open from 6pm at the cricket oval, with Rotary members operating a free sausage sizzle.

The movie is scheduled to start at 8pm but that is subject to change depending on weather conditions.

Details: Warwick Tester, 0414 637 470.
