Fans showed who they sing for when the Western Sydney Wanderers visited Westfield Parramatta to meet supporters this week.

The appearance was an opportunity for the Wanderers to thank their growing legion of fans ahead of their round 11 encounter with Melbourne Heart tonight.

Thousands of fans dressed in red and black turned up to see their heroes being interviewed on stage by former SBS television host Andy Paschalidis and Miss Universe contestant Laura Dundovic.

Players each gave candid interviews and divulged some club secrets on who their favourite overseas clubs were and their biggest footballing influences growing up.

One family keen to meet the first team squad were Dalkeith brothers of Glendenning.

Chris, 15, said he and his three brothers Ben, Cameron and Mitchell were life-long football fans who ‘‘had decided to jump on the Wanderers bandwagon.’’

‘‘We each play club football for Doonside Hawks Soccer Club and go to fair few Wanderers games at Parramatta Stadium,’’ Chris said.

‘‘The team have had such a great season and it’s great they’ve taken the time to come out and meet all the fans today.’’

The feeling is mutual, according to Wanderers player and fan favourite Aaron Mooy.

Mooy described the Wanderers fans as truly unique in the Australian sporting landscape and said they were an inspiration for players during games.

‘‘It’s been unbelievable and crazy just how fast and big our supporter base has grown,’’ Mooy said.

‘‘Our fans are very passionate and love supporting the team wherever we play around Australia.’’
