Police are asking for assistance from the public after four separate fires were located and extinguished by fire fighters in Guildford this morning.
The four fires were deliberately lit at different unit complexes on both sides of Guildford Road during the early hours of this morning.
About 4.50am (Saturday, January 19) unknown person/persons have started a fire in a number of rubbish (sulo) bins that had been in the garden area but were moved to the front of the unit block.
Two bins were totally destroyed and an area of nearby grass and a small tree were also damaged.
At 5.30am a number of rubbish bins at another unit block were found to be on fire.
Almost immediately a third report of fire in bins in the garden area of a nearby unit block was received also.
The fourth incident happened about 6.05am when several rubbish bins were found on fire in the underground car park of another unit block.
Holroyd police commenced a search of the area but could not locate a vehicle or the person/s responsible.
Investigators have seized CCTV footage from several locations and hope to review it further to try and establish any suspicious activity in the area.
Police have urged anyone with information about the fires to come forward.
Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/.
