HOLROYD 2013 Australia Day celebrations will go off with a bang.
Holroyd City Council has put on action packed line-up of activities and events, and are inviting residents and guests to come down and celebrate the special day together in Merrylands.
Holroyd mayor Ross Grove is encouraging everyone to go along and enjoy a great day filled with entertainment.
"This is Holroyd City's biggest event of the year and we are pulling out all the stops to put on an exciting line-up of live entertainment," Cr Ross said.
"It's sure to be an amazing day - the biggest and best Australia Day in Holroyd City's history - which will end with a fabulous grand finale not to be missed.
"I encourage all Holroyd residents and anyone else who wants to come along to join in our celebrations this Australia Day."
On the day, there will be live entertainment, activities, displays, amusement rides for all and a spectacular fireworks display before 9pm to wrap up festivities. The main act will be FMX Kaos International Freestyle Team, the first original and fastest growing freestyle motocross team in Australia.
To take on the heat of the day, there will be a Pool Party at Merrylands Swim Centre.
At the pool party, there will be a live DJ pumping out all the hits, and a range of water inflatables, games and activities to keep residents and visitors entertained throughout the day.
