An Old Toongabbie man presented himself to Westmead Hospital with a gunshot wound to a leg.
Police are investigating after being contacted by staff at the hospital when the man, 21, sought treatment for the gunshot wound to his right calf about 10pm on Monday, January 7.
The man was expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Detectives spoke with the man on Monday night and have canvassed two locations but have been unable to identify a crime scene, they said.
They have appealed to any witnesses of the shooting to come forward.
