Police have charged two men and three juveniles over the armed robbery of a convenience store in Westmead.
Police allege three males, aged under 18, raided the shop in Hassall Street West armed with a machete at about 9.15pm on Wednesday, November 21.
After jumping the counter and taking cash from the register, they slashed stock on shelves with what police said was a ‘‘very sharp machete’.
They are alleged to have escaped in a waiting car with the two adult men aged 19 and 21.
A police patrol car spotted the vehicle driving with no headlights on and stopped it.
The officers allege they found a machete, cash and clothes that were later identified as matching that worn by the offenders.
The three juveniles were bail refused to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on December 20.
The two adults were released on conditional bail to reappear at court on January 15.
