CHURCH organisations in the Parramatta area will be the beneficiaries of a new show for rev-heads which was launched last Friday.
The Silverwater Motor Festival, a family focused celebration of the positives in motoring, will be staged in March 2010.
It was launched in Church Street Mall on Friday by Greg Hirst from the Parramatta-based Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club.
Mr Hirst said the festival would build on the 15-year tradition of family entertainment established at the Silverwater Street and Custom Motorcycle Show.
The festival will display hot-rods, classic cars, street machines, competition cars and custom motorcycles. It will also include live music and family fun for all ages.
The annual one-day festival will incorporate two motoring events the Silverwater Street and Custom Motorcycle Show, run by Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club, and the Meguiars Custom and Classic Car Show, which will involve car clubs.
Trophies will be awarded for a range of categories as well as prizes in both shows for people's choice, best car/bike and best club display.
Shannons Insurance announced a five-year sponsorship of the festival, which will be at Silverwater Park, Clyde Street, Silverwater on Saturday, March 13.
