POLICE believe the shooting of a man in his car in Holroyd last Sunday afternoon may not have been a random act of road rage. The 33-year-old was driving a white Toyota Corolla on Fullagar Road when he became involved in ``an incident'' with another vehicle, police said. A driver of the other vehicle approached and fired a number of shots. Although injured in his leg, the man did not call police. They were notified by Westmead Hospital staff after the victim drove to the home of a friend who took him to hospital. The man is in a stable condition awaiting surgery.
Fatal crash
A 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated dangerous driving causing death after he crashed his Lexus into a Holden Captiva four-wheel-drive in Wentworthville last week. The Lexus was spotted by police travelling erratically along Sherwood and Centenary roads, but officers lost sight of the vehicle not long before the incident on Station St. A 32-year-old Lexus passenger died in hospital from his injuries, while the two occupants of the four-wheel-drive sustained minor injuries.
