On November 28, 2009, two men of Asian appearance were involved in an altercation with three Indian men before one of them allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the Indians.

A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the lower back. A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the arm and back and a 30-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen.

All three were taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

It's believed one of the Indian men had been involved in an incident with one of the unidentified men a few minutes earlier on the overpass at Harris Park Railway Station.

Parramatta Police Superintendent Robert Redfern rejected suggestions that the altercation was race related and said the case showed how active NSW police had been in pursuing crime regardless of race. ``The photographs released today reflect what we have said in the past that victims and persons of interests come from a range of backgrounds,'' he said.

``There is nothing in this case which suggests a racial motivation for the attacks.''

Parramatta police are investigating both incidents and would like to interview the two men pictured above. The first is described as Asian, about 25 years old, of medium build with short black hair and at the time he was wearing a white T-shirt and beige knee-length cargo shorts.

The second is also described as Asian, about 20-25 years old, medium build, with short black hair and at the time was wearing a white T-shirt and grey full-length cargo pants.
