Fright for boy
A MAN was charged with indecent assault after he kissed a four-year-old boy in a playground in Church Street Mall last Thursday.
The 37-year-old, who was sitting on a park bench, called the boy over and allegedly put his arm around him and then kissed him on the face several times.
The child's mother saw the incident and screamed at the man before phoning triple-0.
The man fled but was traced by police to a nearby shopping centre where he was arrested.
Motorcyclist hurt
A MOTORCYCLIST underwent surgery after his vehicle and a car collided at Granville last Wednesday.
Police believe the 22 year-old-man, who was riding his motorbike on Woodville Road, ran into the rear of a car as it turned in to the street from a side street.
The motorbike slid along the road and the rider sustained serious leg fractures.
The 26-year-old female driver said she did not realise she had been hit until she got home and noticed damage to her car.
When she rang the police she told them that although she had felt a bump to her vehicle, she did not see anything in her rear vision mirror.
A passing off-duty ambulance paramedic attended to the injured rider who was taken to Westmead Hospital.
