MS research grant

10 Mar, 2010 09:30 AM
SCIENCE and Medical Research Minister Jodi McKay and the executive director of Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia, Jeremy Wright, have announced $1.4million in funding and a new network to help researchers.

The NSW MS Research and Clinical Trials Network would help bring the state's researchers together and streamline the clinical trials process.

The funds will support a multiple sclerosis clinical trials co-ordinator and provide secretariat and grant-writing support.

Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia is investing $970,000 to continue the promising work of Sydney-based scientists with two new fellowships for continued research into genetics and neuropathology.

The new fellows are Associate Professor David Booth from the Westmead Medical Research Foundation (formerly the Millennium Foundation) and Dr John Parratt from the University of Sydney.
