PEOPLE who ride motorcycles are not necessarily a bunch of thugs on two wheels: some are family-oriented adventure lovers.
Sergeant-at-Arms of Parramatta's Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club, Greg Hirst, wants to dispel the misconceptions he believes many people have about motorcycle riders.
``Motorcycle riders and clubs have long been subject of extremely negative stereotypes,'' he said. ``They're regarded as among those who live on the edge of society.''
As part of his mission to re-educate the community about his motorcycling brethren, Mr Hirst is about to publish the sequel to his first book, My Motorcycling Life, a series of stories about people he has known over 30 years of motorcycling.
The second book, My Motorcycling Life: Part 2, is a light-hearted collection of yarns.
``The stories in it are positive, it's readable and it doesn't take itself too seriously. It's an outlet for the passion I have.''
The book will be launched at the Sydney Motorcycle Show, Sydney Showground, this Saturday at 2pm by Parramatta MP Julie Owens, former NSW transport minister Bruce Baird and Finks Motorcycle Club member Ferret.
